Important Dates

Monday & Tuesday, April 29 & 30: Students will be getting their Show Choir costumes on this day. This is later than usual due to some delays by the costume company. Because of this, picture day will be moved to the day of the concert. See details below for additional costume items that you will need as well as hair and make-up instructions. Please keep track of these costumes upon receiving them, as we do not have any extras.

Monday & Tuesday, April 29 & 30: Last tuition payment is due! Remember, our per-semester tuition is broken down into monthly payments. May tuition is not pro-rated. *All remaining tuition and fees must be paid in full by the concert date in order for your child to perform.*

Monday & Tuesday, May 6 & 7: Final week of classes! Regular class times as usual. Dress rehearsal for “101 Dalmatians” and “Oliver”. For those students in “101 Dalmatians” and “Oliver”, please arrive to Do Re Mi in costume, hair, and make-up on this day.

Saturday, May 11: Mandatory Dress Rehearsal and Performance for the following classes:

  • Take-A-Bow

  • Notables

  • Act One

  • Spotlighters

  • Encore

  • Ages 4 – K Hip Hop

  • 1st & 2nd grade Hip Hop

  • 3rd & 4th grade Hip Hop

  • All students must be at their appropriate dress rehearsal time and then be back at the theatre again by 4:30pm for finale rehearsal. Schedule is below.

Monday & Tuesday: May 13 & 14: “101 Dalmatians” and “Oliver” performances. 6:00pm at Mountain View Church. Students must arrive at 4:45pm in costume and make-up. Cast party to follow Tuesday evening’s performance. Details below.

Dress Rehearsal: Please find your students appropriate rehearsal time below. Have them arrive at the theatre in full costume, hair and make-up… Please be 15 minutes early so we can stay on schedule. Check-in and drop your children off in the main lobby. A helper will be there wearing a Do Re Mi shirt to welcome your child and escort them into the theatre and then back out to you when they are done. No parents will be allowed in the theatre during rehearsal.

1:00pm – 1:30pm: Take-A-Bow
1:30pm – 1:45pm: Ages 4 – K Hip Hop
1:45pm – 2:15pm: Notables
2:15pm – 2:30pm: 1st & 2nd grade Hip Hop
2:30pm – 3:00pm: Act One
3:00pm – 3:15pm: 3rd & 4th grade Hip Hop
3:15pm – 3:45pm: Spotlighters
3:45pm – 4:15pm: Encore
4:30pm – 5:00pm: ALL STUDENTS for finale rehearsal. We will take them into the dressing room until showtime! 
5:30pm: House will open for 6:00pm show!
6:00pm – 7:30pm: SHOWTIME!

THESE DRESS REHEARSALS ARE MANDATORY. IF YOUR CHILD DOES NOT ATTEND DRESS REHEARSAL, THEY MAY NOT BE ABLE TO PERFORM IN THE CONCERT!


Show Choir Costume Requirements

Please see the following list of items that your student will be receiving and what other costume items are needed for the Saturday, May 11 concert.

Take-A-Bow (Ages 4 - K)
Included (Receiving on 4/30):
Polka-Dot and stripped dress, bow headpiece and ribbon shoe ties.
Needed (by 5/11 concert): White slip on flats or white Keds & white rippled socks.
Hair & Make-up: Hair should be out of face, either pinned back and styled, or up in a bun or ponytail. Hairpiece pinned in hair. Light stage make-up (rouge, something on the eyes (mascara/eye shadow) and red or pink lipstick.

Notables (1st & 2nd grade)
Included (Receiving on 4/29): 
Multi sequin mesh over leotard with slip-on skirt and bow headpiece.
Needed (by 5/11 concert): Black jazz or black ballet slippers & black tights.
Hair & Make-up: Hair should be out of face, either pinned back and styled, or up in a bun or ponytail. Hairpiece pinned in hair. Stage make-up (rouge, something on the eyes (mascara/eye shadow) and red lipstick.

Act One (3rd & 4th grade)
Included (Receiving on 4/29): 
Flowy, multi-colored dress and fabric headpiece.
Needed (by 5/11 concert): Tan slip-ons (must stay on!), tan jazz or tan or pink ballet slippers. Flesh colored tights. Black or tan spanx or boy shorts to wear underneath dress.
Hair & Make-up: Hair should be out of face, either pinned back and styled, or up in a bun or ponytail. Hairpiece pinned in hair. Stage make-up (rouge, something on the eyes (mascara/eye shadow) and red or pink lipstick.

Spotlighters (5th - 8th grade)
Included (Receiving on 4/30): 
Red twill jacket/shorts combo with chin-strap mini top hat.
Needed (by 5/11 concert): Black character or jazz shoes & black tights.
Hair & Make-up: Hair pulled back, in a low tight pony or low tight bun. Hat on head at slight angle.Stage make-up (rouge, something on the eyes (mascara/eye shadow) and red lipstick.

Ages 4 - K hip hop
Needed (by 5/11 concert):
Plain oversized brown t-shirt to throw over Take-A-Bow costume. Same shoes as Take-A-Bow. Dog ears, of choice. ***If only in hop hop***: Black pants and black shoes + brown shirt and dog ears.

1st & 2nd grade hip hop
Needed (by 5/11 concert):
Oversized white long-sleeved button down shirt to throw over Notables costume. Black tie. Same shoes as Notables.

3rd & 4th grade hip hop
Needed (by 5/11 concert):
White jeans, white plain tank top (no writing), white shoes (vans, Keds, etc.)


Extra Ticket Request 

Each recital fee includes (2) complimentary tickets. Additional tickets are $12 and can be purchased in a couple of different ways!

  • Option 1 (available now): Our online shop! You, your friends and family can order spring concert tickets right from our website. Visit doremischool.com and click “shop”. You’ll have the option of picking them up at “will call” the day of the concert, or you can pick up your tickets in class beginning April 22. Please be sure to complete the checkout process. You will receive an email confirmation after placing your order.

  • Option 2 (beginning April 22): In class! Extra tickets will be available for purchase in class. Cash, check and credit cards accepted.

Tickets on the day of the concert are $15 and can be purchased through the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts box office.

Flowers for your shining star!

It is tradition in the theatre, to give flowers or gifts on opening night. In keeping with this tradition, Encore, Do Re Mi’s elite high school touring show choir, is fundraising for their upcoming tour to Chicago by making flowers available for you at our spring concert! Order forms are available in class or on our online shop when purchasing tickets. If placing an online order, please be sure to complete the checkout process. You will receive an email confirmation after placing your order.

Picture Day – Day of concert!

Since we will be receiving costumes later in the semester this year, we will be unable to have picture day during class, like we normally do. If you would like a student portrait taken, please place an order on our website. Student portraits are $15 and include an emailed digital file of your student and group photo. Please be sure to complete the checkout process. You will receive an email confirmation after placing your order.

Doors will open at 5:45pm. Limited space is available each night! We encourage some of you to invite your family and friends to the second night as to not overcrowd the first one. We don’t want to turn anyone away! 

We also ask that you stay and see BOTH shows. It’s not fun for the older group to look out and see empty seats because families left after watching the first one. If you must leave, please sit in the back. Think of the kids! 

Cast Party!

Following Tuesday evening’s performance, there will be a cast party at Fired Pie, which is located directly across the street from the church!
