This exclusive event invites students to dive into the enchanting world of musical theater as they learn to work together as an ensemble while exploring music and choreography from the beloved show, Wicked.

About Chelsea Cree Groen:
Chelsea is a NYC based actress, singer, and dancer, most recently seen on tour with WICKED as an US for Glinda and a member of the ensemble!

Originally from Phoenix, AZ, she received a BFA in Musical Theatre from The University of Michigan with a minor in Community Action and Social Change. Chelsea previously performed across the country as Minnie Fay in the First National Tour of HELLO DOLLY! As an AEA member, she was the recipient of the prestigious Roger Sturtevant Award “for demonstrating outstanding talent and skill as a musical theatre performer.” She’s performed regionally since the age of 10 at the MUNY, Ogunquit Playhouse, Theatre By The Sea, Phoenix Theatre, Theatre Aspen, Berkshire Theatre Group, and many more! 

In addition to performing, Chelsea is a multi award winning director, choreographer, and teaching artist and has her own private coaching studio. Additionally, she is a NASM certified personal trainer and fitness instructor! She is actively involved in non profit organizations such as Project Broadway, Broadway Serves, and AHRC. She is an advocate for community action, pet adoption, arts ed for all, and voting rights. She lives in Astoria with her husband Evan and their rescue dog, Ella!

About Evan Zavada:
Evan Zavada is an NYC based MD, pianist, and conductor originally from Seattle, WA. He has played and conducted all over the country, including conducting WICKED at the Kennedy Center, and is known for his diverse skill set and proficiency in all styles of music. He appears regularly at 54 Below, and is also music director for Erika Henningsen. Evan has worked/performed with a wide variety of Broadway artists, including Lea Michele, Jane Krakowski, Frankie Grande, Matt Doyle, Sheldon Harnick, Tom Kitt, Chita Rivera, Sierra Boggess, Tituss Burgess, Kate Baldwin, Norm Lewis, Jessica Vosk, Victoria Clark, and many more. Other credits: Broadway/Nat’l Tour: WICKED (B’way: Rehearsal pianist, Key 3 sub; Tour: Asst. Conductor/Key 1); Off-Broadway: CENTER OF THE YOUNIVERSE (Audible Theatre, Key 2/Saxophone), FIORELLO! (Classic Stage, MD/Orchestrator), SHOWTIME! (The York, MD); Regional MD: ANASTASIA (Bucks County Playhouse), THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW (Bucks County Playhouse, with Frankie Grande), LAST OF THE RED HOT MAMAS (Bucks County Playhouse), THE MYSTERY OF EDWIN DROOD (Goodspeed), GIRLFRIEND (TheaterWorks) MAMMA MIA! (ACT of CT), and NEXT TO NORMAL (Farmer's Alley Theatre). He holds a BFA in Jazz Studies from The University of Michigan.
